Nigeria’s president Mohammadu Buhari’s declaration to run again in 2019 has allegedly crashed stocks performance in the Nigeria stock market.
Nigerian stocks dropped today to a three-month low after the President, Mr. Buhari said he would run again in 2019, ending months of uncertainty about his future after bouts of ill health.
The stock market, which started on a losing streak after Lafarge Africa announced a surprise 2017 loss, worsened its decline.
The equity market fell near 40,000 points.
Earlier today, the president, Mohammadu Buhari declared he would seek re- election in 2019 presidential election. He stated this when he met behind closed doors with the National Working Committee of APC.
