Smartphone giant, Tecno Mobile is currently launching a new smartphone brand in Lagos, Nigeria. The phone, Camon X is an upgrade to Camon CX that was launched last year.
Camon X will be launched together with the pro version, the Camon X Pro which has more advanced capabilities.
Camon X specifications
The smartphone came out of the box with some very exciting features which however are not very new in Tecno’s range of products.
Canon X is uniquely built with aluminium alloy that reflects light in a very beautiful way. It was built almost the same way the Tecno phantom 8 was built even though the Camon X has a more sleeky design.
Just like it’s predecessor, Canon X has a 6.0 inch bezelless display with the screen covering almost the entire surface. At the top of bezel is the Selfie camera, the speaker and the adjustable front LED flash.
The screen has a 1080 by 2160 resolution which is really great.
While the Canon X version comes with 3GB and 32 GB of RAM and ROM respectively, X Pro comes with 4GB and 64GB of RAM and ROM respectively.
The phone also comes with a Mediatek p23 Helio chipset, an octa- core processor and a 64 bit CPU.
On the camera side, camon X comes with 21megapixel front camera and a-16megapixel primary camera, while X Pro comes 16megapixel primary camera and 24megapixel selfie camera.
While the camera shoots great videos, it still however does not record audio from external source. This is one area tecno really needs to work on.
It is important to note that, mediatek chipset on this very device and like others too, especially phantom 6 plus, performs very poorly when zooming in on subjects.
The smartphone is also equipped with rear fingerprint scanner and face detection capability for additional level of security.
Camon X and X pro come with a non-removable 3750 MAh battery which is really not too good for a phone that was designed with shooting videos and capturing images in mind.
