Suspected Criminals Linked To Dino Malaye Escape From Police Custody | FortNews

Two suspected Criminals who recently accused  Senator Dino Malaye of sponsoring their criminal activities have escaped from police custody in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

Fort News correspondent currently covering events in Lokoja reports that the jailbreak occurred at the early hours of Wednesday leading to the escape of other high profile criminals.

Last week, the police said it has arrested two criminals allegedly working for Dino Malaye and recovered two Ak- 47  riffles, five pump action guns and other weapons from the suspects.

Force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood in a statement, explained that the Federal Anti Robbery Squad was able to trail and arrest the suspects who later made confessional statement implicating the senator. The suspects arrested according to the Force spokesman were Kabiru Saidu, aka Osama, 31and Nuhu Salisu, aka, Small, 25 who were overpowered by the police after a fierce gun battle that lasted several hours on January 19, 2018 at Ogojueje in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The police said the suspects confessed they were contracted by Senator Dino Malaye in December, 2017 to work for him as political thugs.

Meanwhile, Senator Dino Malaye has vehemently denied the allegations blaming it on political detractors.

In the heat of the case, it was reported in some media that the senator had fled the country to evade arrest and subsequent prosecution.
